WATERFRONT VENUE
Kayaking on the Lamprey
Take a short paddle across the river and alongside the mills. Enjoy
the view of Newmarket from the water. Jason White and the staff from
EMS will be on hand for assistance. Solo kayaks: 18 and up; tandems
for parents/kids. (Sat. 10-5; Sun. 10-5) Waterfront.
ROWING ON THE RIVER
Take to the water in an Echo Rowing shell. Meet some of the team
members who represent this local company and teach people how to row
in this sliding-seat recreational shell. (Sat. 10-5; Sun. 10-5) Waterfront.

Climbing Wall
Kids of all ages will enjoy testing their agility on a giant rock
climbing wall, brought to you by the Maine Rock Gym. Expert staff
will be on site for the weekend, offering instruction and
assistance. Cost: Suggested donation to benefit the Newmarket
Recreation Department’s Club Chameleon program. (Saturday, 10-5; Sunday 12-5) Waterfront.

Try your hand at casting with instructors from NH Fish and Game.
(Saturday, 10-5; Sunday 10-5) Waterfront.
FISHING workshop
Learn about fly tying, fishing knots, and fish identification with
instructors from NH Fish and Game. (Saturday and Sunday at 11, 1,
and 3 pm) Waterfront.
FESTIVAL BARNYARD
Stop in for a visit at Ruth Scruton's Travelin' Barnyard, an
interactive and educational agricultural display. Meet sheep, goats,
waterfowl, poultry, llamas, and more. Pet and feed the animals. See
a chicken lay an egg! Ask questions of a real farmer. (Saturday,
10-5; Sunday 10-5) Waterfront.
Scenic Boat Rides
Enjoy a scenic ride along the Lamprey River with a guide from the
Newmarket Conservation Commission. (Boat rides do not require a
festival wristband.) Tours are offered on a first-come, first-served
basis, when the tides allow. (Saturday,
2-6; Sunday, 2:30-6). Waterfront.
DOWNTOWN VENUE
All Aboard the Model Railway!
Bells and whistles, chuffs and diesel roar, real smoke and lots of
fun are guaranteed at the model railroad display, brought to you by
the Bristol S-Gauge Club. The Bristol S Gauge Railroaders are
dedicated to S scale (1/64 scale) model railroading. Formed in 1948,
they are, as far as they know, the longest-running S-scale club in
the world. (Sat, 10-5; Sun, 10-5) American Legion.

HISTORIC NEWMARKET exhibit
Take a stroll back in time, through Newmarket’s industrious past, presented by
the Lamprey Arts & Culture Alliance (LACA). The exhibit showcases a
combination of images and artifacts from the archives of the New
Market Historical Society, including: large-format historic
photographs of Newmarket; a Timeline of the Newmarket Mills; a short
video of one Canadian family's story of emigration to
the Newmarket Mills; a folkloric art piece by Newmarket native Edouard
Langlois; a selection of original plein air paintings of
Newmarket and a variety of handmade jewelry, handbags and more—all
created by local artisans. (Sat, 12-3; Sun, 12-3) The gallery at

Visit Tiger No. 1, Newmarket’s historic hand tub in this restored
building, a project of the Newmarket Main Street Corporation. (Sat

STONE SCHOOL MUSEUM
Visit the New Market Historical Society’s collection of old

Cheswell Burying Ground Tour
Visit the graveyard that earned Newmarket a historic
preservation award and a historic marker. Guide: Rich Alperin,

Downtown Village Tour
Discover the history and architecture of Newmarket's village
area, including a stop at the Stone School Museum on Zion’s Hill for
