2008 Location
The 2008 festival has three
venues:
I) The Main Venue located at the
corner of Main Street (Route 108) and Elm St. in a large
paved area adjacent to the Newmarket Public Library. The Main Tent,
Workshop Tent, Artisan Tent, Children’s Tent, Book Sale (Library),
Veterans Exhibit (Library), and vendor booths are located
here.
II)
The Waterfront Venue is located at the end of Water Street in
Schanda Park and along the Lamprey River. The kayaking, boat rides,
climbing wall, juggling workshop, casting and fishing workshops and
festival barnyard are all located here.
III) The Downtown Venue includes
several activities and locations: Model Trains (American Legion),
Historic Newmarket Exhibit (Ampers& Studio), Harvest Supper (Community
Church), Newmarket Engine House & Tiger #1 Historic Handtub, and
the Stone School Museum.
Handicap Access: The festival site
is handicap-accessible except for the second floor of the Stone
School Museum, parts of the mill building, and the trolley.
Handicapped parking is available at the Main Venue.
Reminder: The festival is a No
Smoking event. For safety reasons, the festival is also a
“fido-free” environment. Service dogs only are allowed.

PARKING & TROLLEY
Limited parking (including
handicap-accessible parking and family-friendly “stroller” parking) is available at the
festival site, with overflow parking at the Newmarket Junior/Senior
High School (Route 152). Please note: The Newmarket Main Street
Corp. accepts no responsibility for illegally parked vehicles, which
may be towed at the owner’s expense. A free festival trolley
runs continuously on Saturday (9:30–9:30) and Sunday (9:30–7:30)
among all the festival venues and the parking areas.

Directions to the Newmarket Heritage Festival:
From Massachusetts:
Follow 95 North; at the Hampton, NH Toll Booths stay to the right
taking Exit 2 (Route 101 West) to Exeter/Manchester. In about 3
miles take the exit for Route 108 (Exit 11). Take a right on 108,
going North. In about 7 miles you will come to the town of
Newmarket, NH. Follow Route 108 (aka Main Street) through downtown
Newmarket until you reach the main festival location, just prior to
the Newmarket Public Library. Parking is available at this location
with overflow parking at the Newmarket Jr. Sr. High School on Route
152. A FREE trolley (Sat. & Sun only) will transport you to the
festival site from offsite parking locations and festival
activities. Please note: When using web based map services, such

From Manchester, NH:
Take Route 101 East to Portsmouth and stay on 101 for approximately
30 miles. Take exit 11 onto 108 North to Stratham, Newmarket,
Durham. Go about 7 miles to Newmarket. Shortly after a railroad
crossing, take your next left onto Gerry Ave/Route 152. Turn right
at the end of Gerry Ave., and follow Route 108 through downtown
Newmarket, until you reach the main festival location, just prior to
the Newmarket Public Library. Ample parking is available at this
location with overflow parking at the Newmarket Jr. Sr. High School
on Route 152. A FREE trolley (Sat. & Sun only) will transport you to
the festival site from offsite parking locations and festival

From Maine:
Follow I-95 South to Portsmouth. Take Route 16 (Spaulding Turnpike)
Northwest toward Dover. Less than 4 miles to Exit 6 W Route 4 West
to Durham, Concord. Go about 5 miles and exit onto Route 108 South
(left) to Durham/Newmarket. About a mile on 108 is a stop light
where you stay left to Newmarket (continuing on Route 108). Go about
5 miles till you come to downtown Newmarket. As you approach
downtown Newmarket, you will cross the Lamprey River. Immediately
after the bridge will be the intersection with Elm Street. Turn
right onto Elm Street, and take your first left onto Spring Street.
The main festival parking lot is just to your left on Spring Street.

Follow Route 16 (Spaulding Turnpike) to Dover. Take exit 7 to
Durham. Go right at the end of the ramp onto Route 108 and it is
about 4 miles to the stop light in Durham. Stay left at that light
onto 108 South to Newmarket. Go about 5 miles till you come to
downtown Newmarket. As you approach downtown Newmarket, you will
cross the Lamprey River Immediately after the bridge will be the
intersection with Elm Street. Turn right onto Elm Street, and take
your first left onto Spring Street. The main festival parking lot is

Take Route 293 to Route 4 East toward Portsmouth. About 45 minutes
to Route 108 South to Durham/Newmarket. About a mile on 108 is a
stop light where you stay left to Newmarket. Go about 5 miles till

you will cross the Lamprey River. Immediately after the bridge will
